Vahe Yan

Born 1981 in Vanadzor, Armenia. Vahe Yan studied at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography (1998-2003), graduated as a director (Diploma with excellence). Since 2005 he has been working at Shoghakat TV, directing documentary films and programs. In 2001, he won The Best Director’s Prize at the Students’ Annual Competition-Festival for a stage production of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull. In 2007, Vahe Yan was awarded the Diploma for Cane at “It’s Me” Yerevan Youth IFF. In 2007 Cane was awarded also the Diploma at the Vmeste Documentary IFF in Yalta. In 2008 Vahe Yan’s My World received a Diploma at the “Eurasia. Social Portrait” International Journalist Competition-Festival, Moscow, and a Special Prize at the Vmeste IFF in Yalta. In 2010 The Present was awarded a Diploma by the Armenian
Union of Cinematographers in the Short Films Competition of the “One Shot, One Minute” IFF, Yerevan.
