Chris Marker’s One Day in the Life of Andrei Arsenevich is a film essay about and an homage to the great Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky. An episode of the French documentary film series Cinéastes de notre temps (Filmmakers of our time), Chris Marker’s work is in many ways the precursor of modern video film criticism that explores the work of the distinguished Russian artist, while also showing exceptional shots of Tarkovsky on his deathbed meeting his son and making the final edits to his last film The Sacrifice.
