He was the captain of the Japanese cargo ship Tokei Maru and the man, who saved more than 4000 people during the devastating fire that destroyed the Greek and Armenian quarters of the city of Smyrna. The story of captain Norito now unfolds.

Zachos Samoladas
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece on 1967. In 1983, an S8 film camera led to the creation of Zachos Samoladas’ first animated short. By 1986, the Greek State television ET1 aired 6 of his animated shorts. He studied Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts with legendary animator Jules Engel as his mentor. His studies also include a degree in film direction from the Eugenia Hatzikou film school in Athens. His 1997 animated short titled Genesis is the first Greek animated film over 20 minutes. At present Zachos Samoladas is the Deputy Technical Director at the Municipal Television of Thessaloniki TV100 and an active member of the Greek Directors Guild and ASIFA Greece.
