Avetis
Avetis
Synopsis: Armenians have been celebrating Christmas Holidays throughout the millennia, and they used to be the most beloved holidays. They were celebrated with folk rites called Annunciations (Avetis), which have been lost or forgotten in the whirlpool of dramatic historic events on the territory of Armenia.
Fortunately they have been found, restored and refined through the efforts of a group of ethnographers and musicians, and they are demonstrated in this film through stage performances and theatre of shadows, all played out by children.
