Benjamin Gevorgyan
Born March 22, 1974. In 1996 he graduated Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute, department of Culture, majoring in feature film directing. In 2010 he graduated a two-year film program at Wayda School as a Fullbright scholar in Warsaw, Poland. While studying in Poland, he worked as an assistant director to Krzysztof Zanussi in his theater production of Romulush the Great.
His directorial and screenwriting debut was the 2001 short film Palette, which received an award at “Together” International Film Forum in Yalta. This was followed by Trafficking – a special film project by OSCE and produced by Bars Media.
His next short film Fragment participated in “Golden Apricot” IFF in 2004. In 2005 he made the documentary Broken Mulberry, which was awarded at a Film Festival in Gyumri in 2007. The same year he made a documentary in China called film Far away close about an Armenian-Chinese marriage.
