24/04 World Orchestra

This is a documentary film-memoir on “24/04 World Orchestra”, formed on the centennial of the Armenian Genocide. In it the initiator of the orchestra conductor Sergey Smbatyan shares his feelings, recalls the difficulties and dramatic moments they had to face in 2015. The orchestra had 123 musicians from 47 countries, particularly from the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Russian National Orchestra.

Seg Kirakossian

Born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1989, Seg Kirakossian studied documentary filmmaking at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, later writing a PhD at the same institute on contemporary documentary cinema. He has made films in Armenia, Turkey and the Czech Republic. Currently Seg is directing documentaries for the Public TV of Armenia and cooperating with film studios. From 2015, he is the founder of Doctor Cinema NGO, in frames of which Seg has produced around 10 short international documentary projects.
