An island off the coast of Portugal: a seaside resort during the summer, a protected reserve for the rest of the year. Only the lighthouse keepers live there in winter. Along with thousands of seabirds. An immersion into solitude and the natural elements, filmed in a pictorial manner and with a sense of framing that blends man into his environment. The magnificent portrait of one end of the world.

VÍTOR CARVALHO

Vítor Carvalho is a young filmmaker from Lisbon, Portugal, who studied film in India and in the USA. His short documentaries Memories from the Cross (2012) and Berlenga Grande (2014) have been shown at several international film festivals, including Visions du Réel, Doclisboa, and IndieLisboa.
