Greetings from Festival 2015
Welcome to our first “Apricot Tree” International Film Festival (ATIEFF). We thank the Ministry of Culture, “Golden Apricot” Film Festival and “Shoghakat” TV for their support and for making this event possible.
Ethnography is often associated with past traditions, and yet it’s well and alive in the present and it plays an important role in our fast changing technological world. It’s fascinating to observe the process of integration between our traditional ways and the technological innovations which we embrace in our daily lives.
Ethnographic documentary films are effective tools of expression and we may see in them the resolution of past traditions with the necessities of the present and the vision of the future.
In our program we have over 20 documentaries and filmmakers from seven countries attending the festival. We appreciate their presence and are looking forward to view, hear and share their stories. They will surely enrich our lives, enhance our understanding and encourage future cooperation among ourselves.
