Istanbul Notes
“You either lack something or have too much of it so to leave where you live…” Istanbul Notes is a film that depicts the city’s modern music scene. Five unique human stories, five musicians From Montreal, Sofia, New York, Salives and Palermo have hit the road, traveled and made music around the world, eventually meeting each other in Istanbul.
Yunus Emre Aydin/ Özlem Sariyildiz
Born in 1982. Graduated from the Istanbul University, Department of Philosophy and continued his MS in the same department. Yunus is a professional photographer and play the oud. Istanbul Notes is Yunus’ documentary debut.
Born in 1978. Completed her BA in Industrial Design and MS in Media and Cultural Studies in Middle East Technical University, Turkey and started a PhD in Graphic Design in Bilkent University. She started to engage in video and documentary filmmaking during her BA studies and has continued to tell stories ever since.
