Maria Chuprinskaya

Maria Chuprinskaya is a Russian producer, screenwriter, director, actress and performer. She graduated with honors from the Moscow State University Department of Journalism and in 2005, attended the High Courses for Film Directors and Scriptwriters lead by filmmaker Vladimir Khotinenko. Since 2006, she works at Ethnofund (Ethnogeographic Research Foundation) as a partner. She is the director of a number of TV films and the scriptwriter of the Geographic Video Encyclopedia series. Among the films she has produced or executive produced are Gentle Art (Apricot Tree IDFF 2016 Feature-length Competition), Let Me Just Be (IFF ArtDoCFest 2015 Main Competition) and Convictions (Best Documentary Film at IFF ArtDocFest 2016, MDR Award for Best East European Film at DokLeipzig 2016). She is also an organizer and selection committee member at Doker Moscow International Documentary Film Festival.
